Gambo WWTP Upgrades and Outfall Extensions

The project involves repairs and upgrades to the Middle Brook Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Town of Gambo. It will also extend the outfall of one of the Town’s two treatment plants further into the Bay. The scope of the project will involve upgrading and replacing parts of a mechanical wastewater treatment plant. The scope of the construction will also involve the extension of one outfall by 260 meters, so that it reaches further out into Freshwater Bay’ The outfall extension will involve some dredging, as well as placing rock fill and armor stone to protect the outfall. The project aims to extend the service life of the wastewater treatment plant and deal with current odor issues caused by the outfall. The project will benefit the community by increasing capacity to treat and manage wastewater.
