Description

Description

"The CompassQuest project aligns with Erasmus+ goals, fostering inclusivity, active citizenship, and European identity through game-based orienteering camps. Targeting high school students (14-18) from diverse backgrounds, including those in remote and socio-economically challenged areas, it promotes physical activity, cultural heritage exploration, and social inclusion in Latvia, Italy, Austria, and Bulgaria. By integrating walking, running, and cycling, the project supports EU Physical Activity Guidelines and the HealthyLifestyle4All campaign. Camps will last four hours with 5-10 km routes, engaging at least 80 students in an immersive learning experience that connects them with local history, culture, and European values. CompassQuest enhances equality and inclusion in sports and education by ensuring multilingual, accessible materials and universal design principles for students with disabilities and migrant backgrounds. Given the Ukrainian refugee presence in partner countries, the project will actively include displaced students, fostering cohesion, peace, and understanding through sports. A methodology will be developed for schools, NGOs, and sports clubs to replicate orienteering camps, ensuring long-term impact. A final conference will engage 30+ stakeholders, while social media outreach will reach 15,000 people. Addressing declining youth physical activity—with 78% of Bulgarians, 60% of Italians, and an EU average of 42% never engaging in sports—CompassQuest provides an innovative solution to inactivity while fostering European identity, cultural awareness, and civic participation. The project will contribute to European Week of Sport 2025-2026 and #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards, amplifying its impact across Europe."
