Description
Description | The Ganzhou No. 8 Peoples Hospital is a general hospital with a wide range of services in all common disciplines in Xingguo County (Jiangxi Province), which has a population of around 800,000. The hospital was founded in the 1930s and currently employs 923 people, including 180 doctors and 364 nurses (or medical staff), with around 860 beds. With an occupancy rate of around 80% and over 460,000 outpatient treatments in 2016, it became clear that the hospital was close to its capacity limit at its current location. The project aims to increase the number of beds in the hospital to around 1,100 at a new location in the north of Xingguo, significantly expand the capacity of the outpatient area and improve the range and quality of medical care. The first phase of the project involves the construction of four new buildings with an estimated total cost (including equipment) of around EUR 71 million. Part of the costs will be financed by a development loan, of which around 55% will be used for medical equipment and around 45% for non-medical equipment. In a second phase, buildings for training activities, dormitories and a rehabilitation center will be added, but these are not part of the project under consideration here. The current site and its buildings as well as some of the equipment will be transferred to the existing Traditional Chinese Medical Center Hospital of Xingguo, which will continue its operations there. |
