The company is owned by KN Energy, KN Energy International and Grupo Marhnos. Gas Natural del Noroeste was awarded its concession area by Comision Reguladora de Energia (CRE) through a competitive bidding offer when it offered to serve 26,250 clients by its fifth operation year and ask for an average tariff of $3.59 dollars per Gigacalorie. The company's investments committments were estimated to be $22 million. The project is financed by equity and commercial loans from Mexican banks.
