Description | Georgia GEDIA Automotive Group is planning to construct an automotive components manufacturing plant at Carbondale Business Park near Dalton. The project scope includes construction of a 180,000-sq-ft building and equipment foundations; installation of a hot-forming line and automated welding equipment; and purchase and installation of overhead cranes, conveyors, chillers, racking and other supporting equipment. SSOE Group has been selected to provide design engineering services for the project. Construction is expected to begin in the late third or fourth quarter of 2020. Germany-based GEDIA will use the plant to produce side-impact beams, chassis parts, bumpers and other structural components for electric vehicles. |
