GEF Terra Capital Fund

The project provides funding to attract commercial capital into enterprises in Latin America that benefit biodiversity, and it creates a pilot for the development of an investment subsector for such businesses. The objectives are 1) to incentivize users and owners of biodiversity to protect these assets in the long run, and 2) to realize long-term capital appreciation through equity or quasi-equity investments in enterprises in Latin America that sustainably use and conserve biodiversity.
