Description
Description | "At the beginning, there was the desire for in-depth knowledge transfer about Europe and the European Union as well as the search for European partner schools for joint project work. The first ERASMUS+ project participation (""OPTIME"") brought the start of a large internationalization concept at the Bernoulligymnasium: on the one hand the Erasmus+ accreditation and establishment of the non-binding exercise ""Erasmus+"" and on the other hand the award ""Ambassador School of the European Parliament "" and the participation in the Euroscola program. The digital project work within OPTIME was also awarded the National eTwinning Seal of Approval. Since then, further eTwinnnig and Erasmus+ projects have continuously followed. Special conditions at the location are the multi-layered social, cultural and linguistic background of the students and their families. This diversity of different languages, cultures and values must be appreciated as a wealth. In order to initiate a sense of belonging in the school community, empathy and intercultural communication skills are needed. This sense of belonging to a wider community, based on the core objectives of the European Union, is also the focus of the Jean Monnet Action. Through participation in Erasmus+ projects, cross-border cooperation is achieved within the framework of strategic partnerships. Central aspects are identification, responsibility, communication and innovative learning; in order to be able to identify increasingly with Europe, the European development goals are anchored in the school mission statement. Responsibility is assumed for the further education of both teachers and students at the location by initiating (project) mobilities. In addition to the professional implementation, communication with the outside world is of central importance by reporting comprehensively on all activities." |
