Description
Description | The project main objective is to facilitate participation of young women in sports, specifically in amateur basketball, by raising awareness on the importance of their mental health and wellbeing. The project has three specific objectives (SO): SO1: to strengthen the capacity of basketball clubs and associations to provide psychological support to female players. SO2: to promote the knowledge of different basketball cultural and social realities in Europe through exchanges. SO3: to raise awareness among sports stakeholders on the importance of integrating mental health support in sport practices. All these objectives will be accomplished by the development of three concrete activities: 1. Training: partners will design and implement an online training course on mental health for basketball associations to equip them with initial tools and instruments to address psychological, emotional and social challenges of female basketball athletes (SO1). 2. Exchange: partners will organise two exchanges among female basketball players, sports coaches and staff to have a first-hand experience of similarities and differences of the other country’s social and sport reality (SO2). 3. Guidelines: partners will produce practical guidelines for sports associations on how to integrate mental health support into their regular practices, taking into account the gender-based dimension (SO3). |
