Description

Description

Our main objective, working together with MEDIA, has remained the same for years – ensure the company’s business model is preserved in order to participate in the process of bringing cultural diversity to the Bulgarian market. Despite the hard times, result of COVID-19, and ever growing piracy (direct result of more films releasing too soon on VOD somewhere around the World) we remain committed to fulfilling the main objective by negotiating new deals and distribute, first and foremost, theatrically before utilizing any subsequent channels such as TV and VOD. While acquiring and promoting new EU productions is something to continue exploring we might also look into partnering with fellow companies from other countries in order to co-produce brand new films as the industry needs all the support it can get while re-adjusting to the challenges of the World we live in at the moment. Even though personnel costs are not recognized as part of the Programme’s expenses exactly people working at A Plus Films are first and foremost benefitting from the continuing partnership with MEDIA as it allows for some sort of stability when forecasting future business patterns. Other than that, local vendors are benefitting from the funds as we need services such as translation and localization of feature files and marketing materials, purchase of advertising space, PR expertise, etc. Being a smaller company in a small theatrical market means the accumulated funds are on the small scale as well, but we will (as always) use them as best deemed fit to support acquisition/distribution/co-production of films that fit our business model. The whole amount may be invested in 1 film or in a number of films, depending on what opportunity presents itself during the project’s duration period.
