The capacity of the plant located in the municipality of Tamboara, in the northwest of Paraná, will be increased by 123%, to 59.85 GWh. Of the total, 50 GWh will be distributed on the grid by the Interconnected Energy System (SIN). The volume is capable of meeting the demand of 25 thousand homes. Geo Eletrica Tamboara is the project sponsor. The BNDES announced the approval of R $ 21.9 million (USD 3.91m) financing Geo Electric Tamboara for expansion of a production plant biogas from the vinasse. The bank's financing is equivalent to 73% of the total investment of the project, of R $ 30 million (USD 5.35m). Financial Closure was achieved in October 2020. The company's forecast is that the expansion of the plant will be ready in 2022.
