Description

Description

The proposed action will focus on modern, efficient, transparent and reusable methods based upon easily available microdata or ready-made situation files. A lot of Statistics Norway’s production line is in the data capture phase based upon nightly updates of the main statistical units; persons, enterprises, buildings, dwellings, ground properties, and their attached variables through unique identifiers in different registers. And during the phases of analysis and dissemination using APIs for code lists (KLASS ), StatBank tables (PxWebApi ) and geodata (WMS/WFS ). The proposal will directly address the core objectives of the call by: - Implementing cross-country or cross-domain solutions that build on existing GSGF-aligned practices. - Strengthening institutional collaboration between the national statistical and mapping authorities through sustainable mechanisms and shared services. - Enhancing the accessibility and interoperability of core datasets relevant to socio-economic, cadastral, and energy statistics, in alignment with the High-Value Datasets Directive and the updated Regulation 223/2009. The anticipated impact of SSB’s involvement includes: - Sustainable integration of geospatial and statistical data into production pipelines, ensuring continued alignment with GSGF Europe. - Innovative, reusable, and well-documented solutions, enabling uptake by other NSIs and public authorities. - Production of high-quality, open datasets and tools to support European policy priorities and national decision-making. - Capacity building and knowledge exchange through active participation in GISCO and EFGS meetings, and dissemination of results via national and European channels. With a firm commitment to transparency, innovation, and international collaboration, Statistics Norway is well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to the development of sustainable geospatial-statistical integration within the European Statistical System (ESS).
