Description | Georgia-Pacific is investing $800 million in upgrading its Alabama River Cellulose mill in Perdue Hill. The project includes adding a new digester, a new pulp dryer, a more efficient power boiler, and upgrades to the brown stock washing and recausticizing systems, recovery boiler, evaporators, and lime kiln. The upgrade will increase the plant's production capacity by roughly 300 tons per day and is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025 with completion planned for 2027. |
