Geospatial statistics – step by step in methodology and in practice

The project entitled “Geospatial statistics - step by step in methodology and practice” fits one of the main themes of work outlined in the call: “Improving access to geospatial data”, fulfilling the following common objectives: • To support the integration of geospatial and statistical information during the statistical production process, considering outcomes from the GEOSTAT projects and various frameworks (e.g. Global Statistical Geospatial Framework (GSGF) Europe framework, Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (IGIF)); • To establish internal and external processes required for a continuous (semi) automated regular update of geospatial data linking it to statistical data collections and concepts and linking to unique national identifier systems; by developing a methodology for the use of GPS location data and GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification) in city statistics; • To provide evidence based data for policy support based on spatial and temporal distribution of statistics;. • To facilitate exchange of best practice and support networking in the integration of statistical and geospatial information. All work planned in the project has been divided into 2 work packages: • WP1 - study of the possibility of implementing elements of GSGF Europe (Global Statistical Geospatial Framework) in the context of Polish statistics; • WP2 – development of methodology and use of geospatial data to assess daily variability of time accessibility of selected cities.
