Description | Dalkia has been awarded the contract to develop and operate a geothermal and biomass district heating network in the Beauvaisis region in northern France. The project involves drilling a geothermal well to about 1500 meters depth to access the Dogger formation and installing about 45 kilometers of network pipes. Biomass sourced from forestry and agriculture will supplement the heating supply, supported by absorption heat pumps. The network will supply heating to 16,000 dwellings and various public and commercial buildings, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 33,000 tonnes per year and provide heating at prices 40% lower than gas-fired systems. |
