Geothermal program

The geothermal program is designed to support the Indonesian government in the strategic expansion of the electricity supply based on locally available renewable energy resources. This is done through financial support for geothermal energy generation, geothermal power plant construction and the connection of the power plants to the electricity grid. The aim of the FC measure is therefore the sustainable supply of local networks with climate-friendly electricity. It can be assumed that the FC program can save around 630,000 t of CO2 annually. Over the lifetime of the supported power plants, this results in a savings potential of around 19 million t of CO2. The immediate target group of the program are the consumers connected to the local electricity grid in the respective supply areas of the financed locations. At the current planning stage of the measures, the program supplies around 480,000 households, 50,000 commercial customers, 700 industrial customers and around 95,000 other consumers (public consumers, transport, agriculture).
