Geraldton Ward Waterline Rehabilitation Phase III

This project will remove iron carbuncles and other contaminants, and reline 1.4 km of deteriorating water lines. The pipes are 6" in diameter and will be relined with a cement mixture that has proved extremely successful in the past. The project will impact approximately 90 households, the local medical clinic (includes medical, dental, and social services), the Geraldton District Hospital and the residents of the long-term care portion of the hospital. The project will improve the health and safety of area residents by providing clean drinking water. Ongoing maintenance costs will also decrease as short-term remedial solutions will no longer be needed. This project will also extend the life of the water line by 40-60 years. Streets affected: 4th Ave. SW, Hogarth, 2nd St SW, 3rd St SW, 1st St NW, 1st Ave NW, Greer St, Benner St.
