German contribution to the ASEAN Covid-19 Response Fund

The aim of the project is to contribute to the fight against Covid-19 in the ASEAN region through financial participation in the ASEAN Covid-19 Response Fund set up by the regional organization in October 2020 in the form of basket financing. At the request of the ASEAN member states (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam), the fund can be used to finance the medical equipment and materials (diagnostics, personal protective equipment, medicines, vaccines, etc.) required for the monitoring, treatment and prevention of Covid-19, as well as related research activities - for example in the fields of immunology or virology - and accompanying technical support. The procurement of required vaccines and consumables, laboratory and diagnostic products as well as therapeutics for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of COVID-19 will be financed on a pro rata basis from the FC funds.
