The education and labour markets in Europe face many challenges due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rising demand for skilled workers, ongoing digitalisation, changing professions and new forms of employment. Continuing education and lifelong guidance are becoming increasingly important. The German Euroguidance Centre supports with its activities the cross-border cooperation in career guidance and promotes educational mobility in Europe to provide practitioners with tools to support those seeking guidance with the best possible orientation and decision-making aids in their choice of occupation and further career planning. To achieve this goal, the knowledge of guidance practitioners about European and international education and labour markets and the comparability of qualifications is crucial to increase educational and labour mobility as well as employment opportunities in Europe. The new Europass Portal makes hereby an important contribution in the future. At operational level, following specific goals were defined for the next 3 years: - To strengthen competence development of guidance practitioners and European dimension in lifelong career guidance This is done by increasing information and training available to guidance practitioners and developing new online training opportunities. - To increase visibility and reach of EG Centre Germany This is done by creating a user-friendly EG website and an optimized intranet presence. In addition, new publications are created. - To increase awareness of Europass and promoting cross-border educational mobility This is done by providing information and advice on learning opportunities in Europe and on the new Europass portal, as well as by making learning opportunities in Germany available on the Europass portal.
