Description
Description | Germany's state-owned energy trader SEFE is set to sign a long-term agreement to purchase up to 1 million metric tons of LNG annually from the planned Ksi Lisims LNG terminal in British Columbia, Canada. This agreement is part of Germany's strategy to diversify its gas supply sources following disruptions from Russia and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The volume represents about one-eighth of Germany's LNG imports in 2025. SEFE was nationalized by the German government in 2022 and acts as a strategic buyer to spread risk across multiple suppliers. |
