Description
Description | The project will support Germany in continuing the membership of SNOMED International and making SNOMED CT available for healthcare related organisations (e.g. hospitals, health care providers, health research facilities, health IT providers). This includes promotion and facilitation of the use of SNOMED CT, implementation of SNOMED CT for specific use cases in Germany and capacity building measures such as Training initiatives, user forums and helpdesk. Germany participates in the eHealth Network and promotes the adoption of the eHealth Network guidelines, like the Patient Summary guideline that work as EU-wide cross-border semantic interoperability voluntary agreements for the exchange of health care data for care purposes. Additionally, Germany is actively engaged in the efforts to deploy MyHealth@EU cross-border health data exchange services (e.g. currently Patient Summary and ePrescription and further on Laboratory results, Images and reports, Discharge letters). Finally Germany is an active partner in Projects to develop the European Health Data Space (EHDS). In all of the above mentioned initiatives SNOMED CT takes an important role since it is one of the core code systems to achieve cross-border semantic interoperability. Potentially, all citizens and all EU Member States benefit from the German implementation of SNOMED CT, in particular for cross-border data exchange activities. |
