Description	The GET FiT program is intended to promote private investment in renewable energies (RE) in Uganda. The aim of the program is to improve the framework conditions for private investment in RE through an innovative bundling of result-oriented premium payments on the feed-in tariff (GET FiT Premium Payment Mechanism, GFPPM) and cooperation with private banks. For example, 17 smaller RE power plants (hydro, solar, bagasse) with an installed capacity of between 1 MW and 20 MW each are to be connected to the grid. In total, this will add up to 160 MW or almost 760 GWh of additional capacity per year to the Ugandan interconnected grid. Uganda will thus be supported in implementing a climate-friendly development path by contributing to sustainable growth, poverty reduction, a reduction in dependence on fossil fuels and the mitigation of climate change.
