"Digital Cube Romania is making waves as one of the most dynamic film production companies from the region through our successful co-productions such as ""Donbas"" (directed by Sergei Loznitsa, Un Certain Regard Award, Cannes 2018), Critic's Week winner, ""Albüm"", Cannes 2016, QUO VADIS, AIDA?, a nine countries co-production (2020) directed by Jasmila Zbanic (presented in the Venice International Film Festival, 2020, Official selection, nominated for two BAFTA AWARDS for Best International Feature Film and Best Director and for the ACADEMY AWARDS for Best International Feature Film), Nowhere Special (2020) a UK-IT-RO co-production, starring James Norton and directed by Uberto Pasolini (Orizzonti, Venice International Film Festival, 2020). We are now diversifying our development and production slate to include television drama and the submitted project GET TO KNOW ME is a central part of that strategy, as is teaming up with our Irish co-producers Blinder Films in co-developing the project with us. Blinder Films is a leading, female-owned Irish Independent film and TV production company. They develop and produce critically acclaimed and commercially successful projects featuring major international talent to audiences across Europe and worldwide, and regularly premiere at A-list festivals such as Sundance, Berlinale and TIFF. “Get to Know Me” is currently at an early development stage, its creator is Romanian Laura Sterian, a promising new screenwriter. The project marks the first Romanian-Ireland co-production for a TV series and will be the first time when a Romanian born writer showcases their work to transnational audiences. Expected outcomes are wider distribution and bigger and more diverse audiences for our work, increased economic weight and significant company growth in terms of capacity and scale for both companies, deeper networks and new working relationships for our two countries, success for established and emerging Irish, Romanian creative talent."
