Information IRCON Odisha Chattisgarh has come up with Gevra Road-Pendra Road New Railway Line [135 km] with a ticket size of 4970 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The 135-km double line connectivity from Gevra Road to Pendra Road [both existing stations] would facilitate evacuation of Coal from South Eastern coal fields Limited [SECL] coal mines in Gevra, Kusmunda, and Saraipali area and development of tribal and backward areas of Northern Chhattisgarh region. This is a shorter and alternate route to the existing highly congested available rail system for movement of coal traffic towards northern and western part of the country. The mega mines of SECL - Gevra, Dipka and Kusmunda would be benefitted and the project shall enable SECL in evacuating about 65 million tonnes [MT] of coal every year from its mines. The overall route of the corridor is 191.664 kms which consists of Main line Gevra Road to Pendra Road [135.5 Km, Double line], Connectivity to Junadih siding [6.048 kms. Single line], Connectivity to Dipka siding [2.521 kms, single line], Urga-Kusmunda [11.516 Kms, Single Line], Kusmunda to Gevra Road [1.085 Kms] and connectivity of Kartali, Saraipali, Ambika and Vijaya west [35 Kms provisional] Funding of the Project is based on Debt-Equity Model [80percentage Debt and 20percentage Equity] and is being implemented by Special Purpose Vehicle [SPV], named Chhattisgarh East West Railway Limited. The SPV is comprising of South Eastern coal fields Limited, IRCON International Limited and Govt. of Chhattisgarh with shareholding of 64percentage,26percentage and 10percentage respectively. IRCON is executing the project. In the PRAGATI meeting chaired by the Honble Prime Minister on 25.08.2021, it was directed that -G/o Chhattisgarh should complete acquisition of balance land expeditiously. -M/o Railways should expeditiously finalize tenders for package I and II by 31st August, 2021. -Ministry of Power should shift 7 EHT transmission lines by December, 2021 and balance lines by May, 2022.
