Description

Description

India-based renewable energy company GH2 Solar Limited and South Korea-based Advanced Hydrogen Energy Solutions (AHES) Ltd have entered into a joint venture to build a green hydrogen electrolyser manufacturing facility in India, targeting an overall production capacity of 500 MW by 2030. The facility will also host a GWh-level battery storage assembly line. The project will start with an annual manufacturing capacity of 105 MW, awarded under Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) programme, and will receive INR 1.575 billion production-linked incentive subsidy. The factory will manufacture advanced alkaline electrolyser technology, with future expansion into proton exchange membrane (PEM) and other generation systems. The total investment is estimated at INR 4 billion, with INR 1 billion allocated in the first phase to set up a 3-GWh battery energy storage system assembly line, and the remaining INR 3 billion to be spent in phases to expand the site by 2030. The project was formally presented at a ceremony in Gwalior attended by company executives and state officials.
