Ghana - Health Services Rehabilitation Project II

The Health Services Rehabilitation Project II is designed to avoid the irretrievable deterioration of the country’s leading hospitals and provide critical support to the programme of primary health care. It’s in line with the priorities for health services rehabilitation in Ghana. The project should directly strengthen health equipment maintenance at the district levels with the emphasis on improvements in managerial capabilities. Through this project, the rehabilitation of the three district hospitals (yendi, Keta and Kibi District Hospitals) would improve coverage and quality of health services. The project comprises five main components, namely: (i) rehabilitation of yendi, Keta and Kibi District Hospitals; (ii) strengthening hospital maintenance capacity at yendi, Keta and Kibi District Hospitals; (iii) strengthening hospital management at yendi, Keta and Kibi District Hospitals; (iv) support to primary health care (expended programme of immunization) yendi, Keta and Kibi Districts; and (v) reinforcement of project implementation unit.
