Ghana - Institutional Support to two Ministries Project

The Institutional Support to two Ministries Project aims to strengthen the Government's national economic management capacity. It should complement various ongoing capacity building programmes in the Ministry of Finance (MOF), namely the multi-donor Public Financial Management Reform Programme (PUFMARP), the World Bank-assisted Economic Management Support Project (EMS), and various assistance by bilateral donors. The project enhance the capacity of NGOs, with special attention to women NGOs and also it seeks to create foundation for enhancing civil society’s participation in the development process and the Bank Group operations in the country. It consists of the six main components, namely: (a) strengthening aid and debt management; (b) strengthening physical audits if Government projects; (c) strengthening economic research; (d) strengthening civil society participation; (e) strengthening of AfDB Desk and (f) project management unit.
