Ghana - Tertiary Education Rehabilitation Project

The Tertiary Education Rehabilitation Project (PAES) is the first of its kind funded by the AfDB in this sector. It aims to support the Government's reform programme aimed at improving the quality and relevance of higher education. The project builds on efforts to improve and rationalize the higher education sub-sector. Its main aim is to offer a higher number of students the opportunity to benefit from higher education. The PAES has five components: (i) University of Ghana at Legon (UG); (ii) University of Cape Coast (CCU); (iii) University of Science & Technology at Kumasi (UST); (iv) six polytechnics in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Ho, Cape Coast and Tamale; and (v) project management.
