Gibsons - White Tower Stormwater Pond

The project will increase the capacity to manage and treat stormwater by intercepting stormwater and re-routing it into the White Tower Stormwater pond. The improvements will protect Charman Creek from increased sediment load and will protect approximately 1 kilometer of downstream properties from flood risk through regulating the flow of stormwater entering the system. The project works include: - environmental protection including flow diversion; - construction of a headwall for pond outfall; - weir/oriface plate; - installation of a water quality treatment system; - clearing, grubbing, site preparation, grading and landscaping including grass, trees and benches; - excavating, granular base where needed, and rip rap in various sections of the project; - installation of storm and sewer piping and manholes/catchbasins as required; - pond outlet overflow and grate; and, - related works.
