Description | X-energy and Talen Energy signed a Letter of Intent to assess deploying X-energy's Xe-100 small modular reactors in Pennsylvania and across the PJM market. They plan to explore opportunities to deploy three or more four-unit Xe-100 plants to add clean baseload capacity, supporting reliability and meeting growing energy demand. Early-stage project development activities include feasibility studies, site evaluations, and a project execution framework. The Xe-100 is an 80-megawatt high-temperature gas-cooled reactor deployed as a four to twelve-unit plant, allowing phased capacity addition and efficient air-cooling systems for reduced water usage and greater siting flexibility. |
