GigReady Broadband network development project in Jefferson County

The project involves the development of broadband services for Jefferson County's residents in West Virginia, USA.The project aims to deploy a fiber network that can deliver 1 Gb/sec of download speed to residents who can take advantage of online educational and skill-building opportunities, remote-work options and telehealth services. GigReady, as a component of the West Virginia Broadband Investment Plan (WVBIP), promotes the collaborative partnerships required for successful broadband adoption and development. Local governments and organizations can use the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) or other local funds to fund a broadband development initiative in collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Economic Development, the West Virginia Broadband Enhancement Council, and the State Broadband Office.
