Description
Description | The Gippsland Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) is a designated area identified as the best place to host renewable energy infrastructure including transmission lines for onshore renewable generation. It stretches from Morwell in the west towards Sale in the east, covering parts of the Wellington, LaTrobe, Baw Baw and South Gippsland local government areas. The plan includes offshore wind energy coming ashore between Woodside and Giffard north-east of Yarram. The Victorian Transmission Plan (VTP) released in 2025 outlines this infrastructure development, explicitly ruling out an onshore connection point at Waratah Bay or overhead transmission lines from there to the Latrobe Valley. |
