Description | The planned 2 km-long Giurgiu–Ruse II bridge, the third Danube crossing between Romania and Bulgaria, will serve as a dual-use road and rail link within the TEN-T network. It aims to ease congestion on the existing Friendship Bridge and improve access to key cities such as Constanta, Iasi, Chisinau, and Odesa. The project is in the pre-planning phase with an optimistic completion target of 2030. The European Commission has earmarked 2.5 billion euro for the project, with around 12 million euro currently allocated for feasibility studies. |
