Glaciers to Farms Program

awarded

The Glaciers to Farms program is a flagship adaptation initiative led by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) aimed at building resilient water and agriculture systems in glacier-dependent regions of Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and Pakistan. The program focuses on improving agricultural productivity through efficient irrigation, water storage, and watershed management to help communities adapt to the impacts of accelerated glacial melt, including droughts and floods. It covers nine countries and four glacier-fed river basins, benefiting about 13 million people, and includes climate assessments, early warning systems, adaptive social protection, health services, and support for agricultural businesses.
