The People First Zone (PFZ) is a project in Glasgow city centre aimed at creating a high-quality public realm that prioritizes pedestrians over vehicles. It focuses on enhancing walking, wheeling, and cycling while maintaining access for disabled drivers, pick-up and drop-off at transport hubs, and business deliveries. The zone covers Queen Street, Ingram Street, Candleriggs, and Wilson Street, integrating with other city redevelopment plans. The project includes raising the junction at Queen Street and Ingram Street, upgrading traffic signals, extending footways with trees, and implementing bus gates to reduce private vehicle traffic.
