Glen Canyon Channelization Project

The project involved modifications to a warm water slough in the Colorado River near Glen Canyon Dam to protect native fish species by limiting invasive smallmouth bass reproduction. The work included removing earth to connect the river's main channel to the slough head and narrowing the slough to create a channel with increased water velocity and cooler water flow, discouraging invasive fish spawning. The project also considered tribal input to protect springs and managed dam flows to minimize environmental impact.
