The existing bridge was formerly a part of the Burin Peninsula Highway and is now a Town owned road that has existed for more than 60 years. The work will include the removal of all components of the existing bridge structure and replace it with a new modular bridge system or structural plate bridge. The project aims to eliminate the environmental concerns associated with the existing creosote timber cribbing as well as the safety concerns to the public who frequently use this bridge. |
