Description

Description

The greenhouse horticulture sector in the border region is among the absolute world leaders. In addition to a strong agro food sector, the region also houses a very strong high-tech sector. However, much high-tech yet does not meet the needs of growers due to a lack of market potential, competitiveness and environmental efficiency. Entrepreneurs in the greenhouse horticulture sector who want to innovate have experienced that more and more innovations are only possible through collaboration with stakeholders in the chain, end customers and users, and in collaboration with knowledge institutions. 'GLITCH' capitalizes on this and emphasizes the importance of co-creation and smart cross-overs: growers as well as technology companies, research institutes and customers work together on innovative energy-efficient and climate-neutral cultivation systems and techniques. The project specifically focuses on the innovation process itself: how can companies achieve successful, low-carbon innovation through co-creation with relevant stakeholders? In concrete terms, this means the further development of, for example, a day screen system with a high light transmission and a good insulation value (PVDF AC film), multilayer cultivation is recorded through cultivation trials on strawberries and cucumbers, and tomato cultivation undergoes an optimization in the area of the lighting regime. During this process, a roadmap will be developed to help greenhouse horticulture companies to bring a co-creative and low-carbon innovation to a market-compliant, competitive and profitable end product.
