The ATLANTIC project aim to design the first EMJMD in Transatlantic Studies. The European Union is facing unprecedented challenges in terms of its relations with the Atlantic, under the impact of the triple phenomenon of Brexit, US retrenchment and reversal of strategic priorities, and the emergence of China. More than ever, it is imperative to rethink the place and the role of transatlantic relations and the future of EU relations not only with the United States and the United Kingdom but also with its Southern partners in Latin American and Africa. This application seeks to prepare students to address those changes in the international sphere by developing a master's programme , organized by an international consortium of HEIs. This future Master's Degree in Transatlantic Studies will fill an evident gap in the European educational space, and in particular in the Erasmus Mundus programme, thus addressing a growing need for training the new generations on the themes outlined above by offering a new and highly innovative Master's program, transnational in its nature and purpose, and which responds directly to a need to train specialists in transatlantic topics. Future students will receive specific training that will enable them to perform research, integrate political and diplomatic functions in international organizations, but also to be involved in non-governmental organizations dealing with the most pressing societal challenges and in business companies exploring the strengthening of commercial ties between the various dimensions of the Atlantic Ocean, both in the North and in the South Atlantic.
