Description

In 2025, global energy investment is projected to reach a record $3.3 trillion, with clean energy investments totaling around $2.2 trillion. This includes investments in renewables, nuclear power, electricity grids, storage, low-emission fuels, energy efficiency, and electrification. Solar photovoltaic technology leads the investment, with $450 billion expected to be spent on solar energy. Battery storage investment will reach $66 billion, and nuclear energy investment will exceed $70 billion, including new plants and refurbishments. Investment in electricity grids is about $400 billion annually but is insufficient to meet rising demand and renewable growth. Fossil fuel investments, including coal and gas, continue but are declining overall, with upstream oil and gas investment dropping by 4% to just under $570 billion.
