There are days one will never forget. For a lot of people one of these days is graduating from school after long years of learning. But the certificate is just a piece of paper. Society is constantly changing and only through further education is it possible to follow up on the development – this is especially important in an international world. Companies have a demand for their employees to further educate their international competences regarding concrete market possibilities. However, SMEs of the region are not that interested in common offered courses and education. A solution could be for schools to design their courses and lectures more flexible and this is exactly where the project Global Company Training starts. A new technology in lecturing makes it possible that one can participate in classes at the workplace which saves time for transportation. This again minimizes time loss with further education. The border region also offers the opportunity to include an international aspect in lecturing as common training and education of young students and employees can take place despite of physical distance, language and culture. Thereby, the project can implement German corporate culture in Danish lecturing and vice versa. In other words, employees in small and medium-sized companies can learn from each other which results in better competences as with regular further education. The partner schools which are engaged in the project experience challenges which have to be solved on a high level. Through merging resources, schools can meet the needs of the region’s companies. Developing a technological solution is essential to the schools in order to ensure access to several trainings for employees – even outside of bigger cities. Global Company Training contributes therefore to an interconnected education and labour market within the region. The key hereby is technology.
