Translated version of this PSD: Ukrainian The EBRD is considering providing up to USD 25 million to finance capital investments at the Globino Group, with the goal of modernising and expanding production capacity at pig production farms and the meat processing plant. The Transition Impact potential of the Project will derive from: 1) demonstration of the successful restructuring of the Globino Group’s activities in terms of modernisation and expansion, 2) backward linkages to cereal crop suppliers and 3rd party pig suppliers, and 3) setting standards for improving environmental standards. Globino Group is one of the major meat processing groups in Ukraine. The Group is vertically integrated with a feed mill, pig breeding / growing complex and meat processing plant. The Group also includes a cheese and butter producing plant. Up to USD 25 million. Approx. USD 91 million. The proposed project has been categorised B in accordance with the 2008 EBRD Environmental and Social (E&S) Policy, as the potential impacts are expected to be site specific and readily identifiable and addressed through mitigation measures. The environmental and social due diligence for the project, which is ongoing, includes an independent third party environmental and social audit to assess the Company’s capacity and systems to manage environment, health, safety and labour issues in its operations. It will also assess the Company’s ability to operate to EU environmental standards and to comply with the Bank’s Environmental and Social Policy 2008 Performance Requirements applicable to the project (specifically PRs 1-8 and 10). Based on the findings of due diligence, if necessary, an Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) will be prepared and agreed with the Company to address any environmental and social issues identified within a reasonable time-frame.
