Description | GMR OSE Hungund Hospet Highways Private Ltd was created to increase to four lanes 99 km on NH 13 on DBFOT (toll) basis, connecting Hungund and Hospet in the state of Karnataka, India. The concession period for the project was for 19 years, including 30 months of construction period. The National Highway Authority of India awarded the contract to GMR OSE Hungund Hospet Highways Private Limited, a consortium form by GMR (51%), Oriental Structural Engineers (49%), through a competitive tender process in Feb 2010. The BOT concession was signed in March 2010. The project cost was estimated to be INR17 billion ($361 million). The project achieved financial closure on 24 Dec 2010.Financing comprised an INR10.8bn 15-year term loan and INR5.71bn equity. The loan agreement was signedwith Axis Bank as the sole MLA. Operational phase was expected to begin in Dec 2012. |
