Description | The Godavari-Banakacharla project is proposed by the Andhra Pradesh government to divert Godavari waters to the Krishna basin. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has appealed to the Union Jal Shakti minister to reject the pre-feasibility report of this project, citing that it is against the interests of Telangana and violates the Godavari Water Disputes Tribunal-1980 and the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. The Telangana government has requested the Centre to stop all works related to this project and is open to talks on an alternative project linking Icchampally to Nagarjuna Sagar. |
