Golden - Mount 7 Rec Plex Gym Floor Renewal

The project will replace the well-worn hardwood court sports floor that is at the end of its usable life at the Mount 7 Rec Plex gymnasium facility in Golden, resulting in improved recreation opportunities. Facility users have been requesting the replacement of the existing floor for numerous years. Since 2015 when the Town’s Recreation Department took over the facility operations, there have been increased efforts to grow and promote drop-in court sports activities along with other programming that encourage community members to get active. With a 200% growth in facility utilization over the past four years, the replacement of the gym floor has become a larger priority of the Town. The project will support the program outcome of increasing the quality of recreational infrastructure for Canadians. The project works will include: - removal of the existing floor; - installation of new spring system and hardwood floor; - installation of new sport lines; and, - related works.
