Description | Hanwha Philly Shipyard, in partnership with U.S. ship management company TOTE Services, has been awarded the contract to build two new missile range instrumentation vessels (MRIV) named 'Golden Defender' for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency's Golden Dome project. These vessels will replace the existing MRIVs, Pacific Tracker and Pacific Collector, built in 1965 and 1970 respectively. The vessels are designed to track and collect data during missile test launches. The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2030. |
