Golden Dome missile defense system

planned

The Golden Dome is a proposed advanced missile defense system announced by US President Donald Trump in 2025, aiming to protect the entire United States from a broad range of missile threats such as ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles. It envisions a space-based shield with interceptors near Earth's atmosphere and advanced sensors in orbit to detect and counter missile attacks early. The system integrates multiple layers of missile defense technologies including satellites with high-tech sensors, space-based and ground-based interceptor missiles, and AI-driven command systems to coordinate rapid detection, tracking, and interception.
