Golden Dome Missile Defense System

The Golden Dome is a multibillion-dollar space-based missile defense system planned by the U.S. government to protect the United States from advanced ballistic missile threats. It will use a constellation of satellites and space-based weapons to detect, track, and intercept missile attacks, including hypersonic missiles and Fractional Orbital Bombardment Systems. The system aims to be operational within three years from the announcement date and includes ground-based defenses, a sensor satellite layer, and space-based interceptors.
