Description | The Golden Pacific Powerlink is a proposed 144-mile-long extra-high-voltage 500-kV transmission line project by SDG&E, planned to run through Temecula from Imperial Valley through Anza Borrego State Park into Riverside County. The project involves nearly 200-foot-tall towers and aims to develop the most cost-effective route, with the final route yet to be determined. The project is in early planning and environmental review phase, subject to California Public Utilities Commission approval, with permits planned to be submitted at the end of 2026 and potential construction start in about three years, aiming for service operation in 2032. |
