Golden Pass LNG Export Terminal

The Golden Pass LNG terminal in Sabine Pass, Texas, is a major liquefied natural gas export project. It is a three-train terminal expected to export roughly 18 million tonnes per annum, making it one of the largest LNG export facilities in North America. The project is a joint venture between QatarEnergy and ExxonMobil and has recently shipped its inaugural LNG export cargo, marking its transition from commissioning to commercial trade. The project was sanctioned in 2019 with an investment exceeding $10 billion and faced construction challenges and schedule slippage. Trains 2 and 3 are expected to come online sequentially after stable operations of Train 1, ramping up to full capacity in the coming years.
