Sponsor BioTherm has secured a ZAR2,225 billion ($164.9m) 17-year A loan. The equity part amounts to ZAR625 million ($46.3m) and represents a debt-to-equity ratio of 78:22. The facility benefits from a 20-year PPA with national Utility Eskom. The project achieved Preferred Bidder status under Round 4 of the REIPPP Programme in South Africa in April 2015 and has been brought to financial close on 24 July 2018 in line with the progress of the REIPPP programme. In November 2019 MIGA issued guarantees for up to $65 million in 2 wind power plants - Golden Valley and Excelsior. IJGlobal |
